To inspire effective engagement within my viewers will be a challenge in itself. I plan on using multiple platforms such as my WordPress blog, YouTube channel and my Facebook profile as a means to get as many accumulative viewers for when my project is released.
Puzzle solving is a method used by film companies as a way to get the mind working within their audience. Films such as “Inception” and “Doctor Strange” use special effects and confusing plot points as a means of making their viewers use their head about what is going on plot-wise. It can be a great method of creating a film that is out there and for mature audiences. Not so good with younger audiences as they get restless and inattentive easily.
With technology evolving, so does interaction within the internet. Features such as the comment section on YouTube videos and blog posts enable people who view such things go on and post their opinion. This can be a great way to discover what viewers want and how to win over their attention.
Real-world actions are such a fun way of engaging an audience. I have seen this happen with YouTubers. As a fun challenge, they make (for example) a scavenger hunt. They leave merchandise of theirs around a certain place, leave a video on their blog about it leaving hints and let their fans do the rest. This type of method really gets people involved and made to feel rewarded about it. It’s a fantastic method if one has the money, time and effort to put it all together.
With new technology comes to engineering challenges within the internet. This means always changing and bettering apps already available to keep people wanting to participate and new people to download it for the first time. Otherwise without the growth, the content gets boring and people are continuously searching for the next big thing.
Google is a fantastic source of archeology. It lets someone pump in a topic such as “how to cook an egg” and millions of answers come up. There is always the right answer out there in Google. It is a fantastic platform that our ancestors weren’t blessed with. With the millennial growing up, they are the last generation to be born without the use of the internet. Now a whole new wave of tech nerds has been birthed into a world where they’ve always had access to the web.
Through the internet, anything is possible. And that includes messaging people on the other side of the world instantly, instead of having to have sent a letter that takes two weeks to get to the other side of the world. Social media has access to instant messenger which is a fantastic tool if used for good. Otherwise it can be used for bullying and harassment and that is not okay on any level. But there is always bad with the good.
The type of audience I wish to entice with my projects is of no particular demographic. I just want people who enjoy small projects to watch and spread the word. I loved working on my pieces and with new people too. So I just hope that joy spreads to those who are viewing my hard worked on features.
